Exhibit Overview:
At the meeting of Pittsburgh’s three rivers, generations of workers built a region defined by strength, labor, creativity, and community.
This exhibit explores how regional identity evolves through myth, the arts, industry, and shared traditions. How might art, sports, and our newest industry together continue to redefine the cultural ethos of western Pennsylvania?

At the Confluence of SPORT, ARTS & INDUSTRY: A Unique Perspective on Southwest Pennsylvania. Patterns of Meaning Artists, Rivers of Steel - Steel industry Experts with sports league history/storytellers, and a renowned pro-sports photojournalist.

Patterns of Meaning:
Patterns of Meaning is an unprecedented collection of industrial artifacts, new paintings, and sculpture honoring the industrial era. The collection features original foundry patterns dating from the late 1800s to early 1900s, paired with their blueprints and reimagined through contemporary art. Each piece connects the legacy of manufacturing innovation to the creative spirit that continues to drive progress today.
Rivers of Steel:
Rivers of Steel showcases the artistry and innovation of southwestern Pennsylvania’s industrial and cultural heritage through its historical and 21st-century attractions—offering unique experiences via tours, workshops, exhibitions, festivals, and more.
Point Park University:
A three-minute walk from the gallery is an internationally renowned liberal arts university. A diverse curriculum - The Schools of Arts & Sciences, Communication, Continuing & Professional Studies, Education, the Rowland School of Business, and the Schools of Dance, Theatre, Film & Animation in the Conservatory of Performing Arts and Sports, Arts and Entertainment Management…

Digital artist Chris Hytha's huge drone-scan images of the antique skyscrapers of Fourth Avenue. (The art exhibit is free and open to the public Thursdays and Fridays from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Benedum-Trees Gallery, 223 Fourth Ave.)

Don't miss the opening of Pittsburgh's newest art gallery, featuring the unique drone-scanned compositions and fascinating histories of the Highrises Collection. Digital artist Chris Hytha and writer Mark Houser will share stories and images from their travels documenting America's magnificent antique skyscrapers. The exhibit includes six landmark Pittsburgh towers plus beautiful tall buildings from coast to coast, all seen from a new perspective.
The Highrises Collection has been shown in Chicago, New York, Detroit, and Philadelphia to rave reviews. Hytha and Houser's book, Highrises Art Deco, now in its second printing, was fully funded on Kickstarter in less than 24 hours.

THEATRE PRODUCTION PORTFOLIO SHOWCASE -
This PPU Senior’s Successful Portfolio program was from December 1st through December 13th.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the esteemed regional and national theatre professionals, as well as the general public, who graciously participated in, supported, and enjoyed a glimpse into the future of theatre during this graduating seniors’ portfolios program. This program served as a platform to highlight and showcase the exceptional talent of the Point Park University Conservatory of Performing Arts.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the accomplished theatre graduates, who are poised to embark on innovative and exciting new endeavors. We are most grateful to all who accepted the invitation to present and showcase their work.

We want to express our sincere gratitude and great admiration for Cat (Catherine) Wilson, Associate Professor of Theatre Production at Point Park University. She played a pivotal role in bringing this special portfolio program to life in this exhibition. She organized the event, coordinated with the students, arranged the showcase, promoted their work and the gallery, and guided the students in confidently showcasing their outstanding ideas and achievements.
